Thanks For Your Donation

Thank you for your generous donations! We've met our goal!

Thanks for honoring Pattie with us. I’ve known her as her twitter cat persona, @CathyKeisha, since 2009. She DJed at my charity parties and I loved her knowledge of and taste in music. It has been sad scheduling parties without her this year and it has been utterly devastating for the whole group to learn she is not coming back.

F*ck Cancer.

You may have noticed I changed the goal amount. I put a lowball placeholder when I configured the fundraiser and forgot to come back to it. I apologize for any confusion.

The recipient, The Lucky Cat Rescue | TLC Rescue (NJ), is on Facebook at TheLuckyCatRescue. If you are local to Central Jersey please consider fostering or adopting one or two of their cats. Money helps but they need hands too.

You're all invited to our Halloween party on twitter on Oct. 28th to benefit this fundraiser. Some of the DJs will tap into @cathykeisha’s Howl-O-Ween playlist. If you’re on twitter do stop by and search for the hashtag #nipclub.

I’ll close the GoFundMe and transfer the funds after the party.

Thanks again!

In Honor of @CathyKeisha's TW, Pattie Kleinke

Yesterday we lost one of our earliest twitter pals' staff. Pattie Kleinke succumbed after a long fight with cancer. I don't have words for how I feel.

@cathykeisha is a longtime twitter personality. She DJed at many pawties including @georgetheduck's #CatmasEve and #ChiliPawty and her absence will be felt for years to come. She has an award-winning blog, Stunning Keisha.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, we donate to a rescue. #nipclub decided to fundraise for her favorite local rescue, The Lucky Cat Rescue in Weehawken, NJ. From their web page:

The Lucky Cat Rescue (TLC Rescue) works to help and reduce the homeless cat and kitten populations of Hudson County, NJ through owner education, TNR (trap-neuter-return of feral cats), and rehabilitation/adoption. We are a foster-based rescue, which means we have no physical shelter building, but instead place animals in private residences under the loving care of our dedicated volunteers.

#nipclub will be holding a party in Pattie's honor on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Do stop by!

Additionally, #nipclub will be having a Hallowe'en party on Saturday, October 28. Two of our DJs will be dedicating their sets to Pattie and @CathyKeisha. I hope you can make it.

Old Tweetdeck Extension from GitHub

dimdenGD/OldTweetDeckReturns old TweetDeck, for free!

Recently many of us lost access to Tweetdeck, the Twitter/X product that enabled us to schedule tweets and which organized our timelines to make parties manageable. dimdenGD/OldTweetDeck contains extensions for the Chrome and Firefox browsers that imitate the old tweetdeck.

At its core, GitHub is a code repository with version control. A deeper explanation of GitHub is beyond the scope of this post. Geeks, can read more about it on GitHub.

These are the simple instructions on the project page, word for word, with pictures. Click the picture for a readable size.

Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Etc.)

  1. Go to Release page and download OldTweetDeckChrome.zip
  2. Unzip the archive
  3. Go to extentions[sic] page (chrome://extensions)
  4. Enable developer mode (there should be switch somewhere on that page)
  5. Press "Load unpacked" button
  6. Select folder with unzipped archive
  7. [Editor's note: Fix the error. When it breaks check the github page for an update.]
  8. Go to tweetdeck.twitter.com and enjoy old TweetDeck
  9. Donate to encourage continued support

Please donate so the author has time to keep the project updated.

Quick and dirty instructions. Please note I don't know how to transfer posts. Mine are gone but for an archive. Correct me in the comments if you know how.

1

I kind of fumbled around until it worked.

First make a new account. A lot of us are on
ohai.social. <<< click linky

2

In the app...

Home button -->
Settings gear button -->
Account settings
Moving from a different account. Enter your old account there.

This only starts the process.

3

Log back into your old home.social account.

Export followers and post archive. Also grab your av and header image.

Then go the same settings page as before on your old home account. Enter your new ohai name in the "move to a different account".

You should have the option of transferring some data.

4

There should now be a redirect on your old home.social profile.

Log into your new ohai.social account.

Import the followers if you have to, upload av and header image.

Posts - I think they're gone. If I'm wrong, please let me know what to do.
