Old Tweetdeck Extension from GitHub

dimdenGD/OldTweetDeckReturns old TweetDeck, for free!

Recently many of us lost access to Tweetdeck, the Twitter/X product that enabled us to schedule tweets and which organized our timelines to make parties manageable. dimdenGD/OldTweetDeck contains extensions for the Chrome and Firefox browsers that imitate the old tweetdeck.

At its core, GitHub is a code repository with version control. A deeper explanation of GitHub is beyond the scope of this post. Geeks, can read more about it on GitHub.

These are the simple instructions on the project page, word for word, with pictures. Click the picture for a readable size.

Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Etc.)

  1. Go to Release page and download OldTweetDeckChrome.zip
  2. Unzip the archive
  3. Go to extentions[sic] page (chrome://extensions)
  4. Enable developer mode (there should be switch somewhere on that page)
  5. Press "Load unpacked" button
  6. Select folder with unzipped archive
  7. [Editor's note: Fix the error. When it breaks check the github page for an update.]
  8. Go to tweetdeck.twitter.com and enjoy old TweetDeck
